Your mate with the 1000 ought to be pretty pleased. That's a good deal considering prices of late (A14's, A15's 5 Speeds AND Datsun 1000).

It turns out the A14 had a lighter version crank, which I 'thought' I spotted when we lifted into the car. I am beginning to think these aren't as uncommon as first thought. My second A14 and second lighter crank.

Here are some pictures. In contrast to my A14 in PNG I think this is the matching block/engine.

The block reads; "N10X" at the top and "G34"






The other end of the block has a "15" embossed on a circle.






The crankshaft has two sets of numbers; "H89" and "30-0" (I think the ones in the wiki are H8940's).
