I forgot to mention, I can get a brand new linkage kit in Jo'burg from a carb place for R750. It's crazy.

If you add up all the stuff, one can actually lean to bike carbs like this other guy that recently posted fitting Keihin carbs to his 1400. They apparently also work with needles like SU's that you can space with washers to get correct A/F ratio. And also bore the jet to get more fuel.
