Any guys that do circuit work here have to use fuel header or surge tanks for their DCOE's?
I am running a holley fuel pump and regulator on a non return line system for my DCOE40's that feed my heavily built A15, It has run this way for a long time but since my new cam and added RPM I have noticed when i really throw the car in HARD into a longer corner the car all of a suddern looses power and takes 2-3 seconds for the power to come back in, feels exactly like its run out of fuel... this said the bowls could not run out of fuel in 1 second at partial throttle even at high RPM.
I have run an in car fuel press gauge, 100% spot on 20kpa, the float level has been everything from 6mm to 12mm no difference, shes running big 35mm chokes due to the 8500rpm red line and she runs 145main and 180airs, fuel ratio is spot on and she never skips a beat, just HARD into a corner and with the fuel pressure dead stable she just falls on her face. My carb builder says its because I dont use a carb header tank, just the usual one feeding into the other but honestly with the pressure gauge feeding between the first and 2nd carb I can not see it being a fuel supply problem if the fuel press does not move at all.
I have run the car flat out from stand still to 6800rpm in 5th a few times with zero hesitiation, its definatly not a fuel delivery volume problem
What you guys think? any of you had a problem like this?
