Perhaps you should have paid more attention in math class. 11:52 from 12:00 is still eight minutes in my book & it's still cutting it fine.
If you don't want people to make statements of the obvious when you have a bitch session, then don't have a bitch session. If you want nothing but sympathy, then go tell your dog.
If you had wanted him to be 'open till 12:00' then turning up a little earlier might have meant that he was going to service your needs if you were 'still there' at noon, but you know, if business is slow, well, we all like to get home when we can.
I work in a retail outlet & can understand how these things happen. Some days I'm there several hours after closing time, some days I'm not.
