About the only thing i have not checked...

The throttle cable cam, its mounted to the front carb and in turn opens the second carb, adjustment between the two is on the cam itself and the idle and return spring sits on the 2nd/rear carb...

Problem is the throttle cam is worn out and has 1.4mm movement on the front carb's shaft! this means that the front carb is VERY rarely in sync = some times perfect idle, some times terrible. I can almost guarantee my corner problem happens because I let off at 8500rpm just before that corner just for a second or two then get back onto it as I get into the corner, I recon whats happening is the throttle butterflies are getting sucked totally shut on the front carb which then forms a massive vacuum which is also placed on the idle jets/pump jets which suck loads of fuel in and as soon as I floor it again she floods out... the actual intake manifold should never see a totally shut butterfly (due to idle control)... This would also explain how I was getting fuel into the choke box! It would also explain why I needed the 22mm lower float level to get enough fuel in fast enough during this “lets SUCK the fuel out session”

I hope to hell I am right, either way it should make a HUGE difference to drivability. How the carb guy didn’t notice in his 3 times of changing this front carb is totally beyond me… this really is idiot 101 stuff, as an engineer I now feel like a total twat for not actually having worked on the DCOE’s myself! So much for trusting the pro’s.
