A12 engine running at the correct temperature is the same! Checking the temperature by feeling with your hand means nothing.
Best fan is the stock ones. I've seen so many electric fans overheat. That may be your problem, especially if you just fitted it.
Thermo-stat gasket is about $3 at any auto parts store.
