I got a weber with this lil ram tube thing on top. only about 1.5cm high oval ring that goes around the top of the throats, like velocity stack on su's (or any other carb)

On the dyno this lil attachment added 4%

So, as ddiesel mentioned flattening the top of your carb may be not such a good idea. Not gospel just thinkin out loud
