I attended a few cruises and even a dyno day or two (34rwkw!) and then after losing my licence for six months decided it was time to progress to stage two.
I have always wanted to efi turbo an a series, but decided for my wagon to ditch the turbo idea and try and go for that old school look and sound with quad throttle body injection. I scoured the international ebays and got a set of gsxr 600/750 throttle bodies complete with injectors, tps airbox delivered to start me off.
Adapting them i thought would be easier as they had injector bosses in them etc so all i had to do was make four pipes join from the head to the tb's. It was a lot more work than i first thought but after jigging them in place then heading up to sikyne's workshop them manifold is complete. it tapers down from 40mm round to the gx ported inlet flange oval shape.
I then thought that to get the best out of the setup i needed a head and some good extractors to get it breathing well. The head is not on the engine yet as i'll get it all running first and then change the engine head and cam. BIGE (ernie from A.T.E race engines) did a perfect job of porting a head for me so that my inlet manifold flows seamlessly into the head. He put in some bigger valves (41mm in 33 ex) double valve springs and ported it to give nice torque and air speed as its a streeter. The head was also fully reco'd.
