If it was a choice between multipoint efi and carbs, efi efi efi, hands down. If it's single point efi, why bother, it'll be subject to the same issue of mixture distribution and potential fuel dropout around corners that a carbed setup will.

It won't cost much more to run a batch efi with multipoint - something like megasquirt... I am a carby fan to say the least, but make no mistake efi is the go, it's easier to optimise, and stays optimised.
