I might earth mine and see what it does, I'm not anysort of expert on this topic, but I figure the guage unit should be positive (+), the more negative (earth) it receives the more heat produced to bend the Bimetal needle thingy and the hotter the reading on the guage.
I might be wrong so some more feedback from other users would be great!
