So I have two questions:

How many differing types of KB10 models came out of the factory? I am talking from minor detail to anything significant?
Cheers
I should have addressed this question also.

OK, the KB10 is somewhat unique in the B10 range as it shares only the front guards & the bonnet with its bretherin as far as visible body panels go, & of course it also uses the basic B10 chassis & running gear.

There were three versions of the KB10 that I can identify & they are as follows

JDM KB10GL [Sunny Coupe GL]
Japan only, this had the sporty steering wheel & a few other trinkets to tart it up a bit & it was available with a floor shift auto trans as well as a short list of options & a loooong list of accessories. [GL= Grande Luxe]

JDM KB10 [Sunny Coupe]
Japan only, this was the DeLuxe & was the base model. It had a longer option list only because some of these options were standard in the GL. The accessory list was the same as the GL

Datsun 1000 Coupe DeLuxe
Australia only, these were pretty close in spec to the JDM DeLuxe model.
Differences include 'some' Datsun badging as the deck lid emblem, & the grille emblem remained with the 'S' symbol from the original Sunny.
NSW spec cars seem to have all come with a Tach, radio, two external mirrors, a heater & perhaps some other stuff that I forget, all of which were options in the Jap DeLuxe model. Other states may have varied the specs a little but the Aussie spec car was better equiped on the showroom floor than the equivalant Jap version.
Jap cars had amber front park/blinker lenses while Aussie ones had white lenses.

Everything on the brochures option list was available in Australia, including the wood rim steering wheel.

Coupe engines had 10 to 1 compression instead of the others 9.5 to 1 & when combined with a revised spec carb & a better, free flowing exhaust manifold with dual outlet, it delivered an extra 4hp at 6,500 rpm. This was presumably to restore some performance since the coupe was the heaviest model in the B10 lineup.

The KB10 was made in RHD only which means that it was not sold in the Japanese island of Okinawa which was a LHD prefecture[?] at the time.
Apart from the main islands of Japan & Australia the KB10 was not offered in any other market as far as I can tell, although single examples have turned up in NZ & some other countries & all are very likely to be 'private imports'

KB10, it's something special.

P.S. To clarify a couple of comments in earlier posts.
The Aussie coupe gear knob was the same part as other models & was black. There was an optional wood knob with a plastic insert on the top.
The pressed steel dash is welded to the cowl structure & forms a part of the body structure. It is not significantly heavier than the other models.
The KB10 did not have a 'hatch'. It was the same as the 1200 with a small deck lid. The 120Y coupe body had a hatch.
Bert is 100% right, B10's, VB10's, KB10's & B20's were ALL Japan imports, every last one of them, so the seller hardly has anything unique.
