Ben, the biggest issue would be the width of the engine and gearbox assembly as it's transversely mounted. It would be way to wide for a 1000 by the time you had installed the GTiR
struts and turrets. Personally, I'd go with a CA18DET and forget the 4WD. One wild idea that might work though ...how about using the whole front clip from a Nissan Maxima which is
a transverse mounted VG30E (FWD) and building that into the rear for a V6 mid engined 1000!
