Hey Clive, I lived in East London, SA, and used a copper gasket for a few years ( on both a turboed A14s & on a Mazda FE3 in my bakkie)without much problem. Your surfaces (head and block) have to be VERY smooth/good otherwise u pick up seeping. I had the block decked very slightly and the head. Used that spray-on Spanjaard copper gasket spray.If u boost past 1.4bar just order a Multilayer on the net, pay by card, and youll have your gasket in the post in 2 months.
