Well one of the first things I did when I got this car was machine up a new nylon bush for the gear stick lever as the old ones were missing (allowing the gearstick to wobble 50mm before actually moving the internal mechanisms). Now with the bush I made its tight as and the gearstick has about 2mm free play. But under load (up hill, or hard acceleration) you can hear a slight rattle in the gearbox that you can quieten (and feel at the same time) by holding the gearstick and slightly applying load to it.

So I think the shifter forks are loose but what you you guys think?

The box is a F4W56A I think.

I'd rather have a 4 speed on the A12 as I would be loosing more of whatever little power it makes if I had a 5 speed.
