$15000 on the bare engine i think is a bit much, not saying its hard to believe. seen many small block chevs and holden v8s that have had more than that on the bare engine...but they have alloy heads and stuff that they can buy

might have spent a #OOPS# load on getting the head ported real well and stuff like that that you can get most of the gains in the first bit of work then have to do a whole heap more to get the next little gain

but he also says its a 2.2 stroker, and that its been bored to 2.2 litre. stroker #OOPS# aim cheap, sleeving an engine with custom pistons is cheaper

would say he went the expensive way about doing stuff though, as it cost me $2500 for my forged rebuild on the CA, cant say it would have been possible to get to $15000 without lighting a fire out of $50s to keep myself warm whilst the engine was being built
