i have put a kit through the carburettor and cleaned it, the fuel in the sight glass is smack bang on the dot.
so far i have changed almost everything, coil, rotor, cap, plugs, leads.
valve adjustment is .030 on cold. the securing nuts are pretty tight. it kind of sounds like it wants to idle but there is a sound that it makes kind of like a flopping sound and then stalling sometimes.
have pulled the plugs out but none of them seem to have been fouling i have 10w-40 oil in there could this be too thin? my engine also includes: - bosch gt40r coil - new cylinder head with lapped valves - new pcv valve - new gaskets covered in permatex so it doesnt leak vacuum
i'm totally stoked on this one. power curve is pretty much perfect with a good advance it's just missing on idle and i cant figure it out. I havnt checked the timing because i have no timing light Maybe it's bad gas? It's been sitting unstarted for 3 months with the same gas although i've had a look at it and its still a nice clear purple color. because i'm painting it, i just want to get the engine running perfect..
