The drums and brake setups in the 1k get problematic as they get older. (understandabily)

I would suspect that the slave cyclinder is not releasing completly, so when you hit the brakes it comes on before the other side.
You may need to remove it and get it resealed.

Dattoman_1000 would be the guru on this...

As for the indicators, get a multimeter out and find where the power stops. It could be a broken wire somewhere.

Once you locate where the power stops, it becomes much eaiser.
