I have in my hand a completed PROTOTYPE adapter plate made of 3/8" aluminum that will mate a FWD SR16 or SR20 Nissan engine to an L Series Nissan RWD gearbox.

This adapter can be used with the stock SR clutch and flywheel. The L transmission has the same pilot bushing size and clutch disc spline count and diamenter. The only change needed is a throw out bearing that is 1/2" longer than the one originally used with the transmission. Nissan used several different depths of bearings, so this should not be a difficult task.
