Hi Leigh given your intended usage will lean more towards drags than circuit I would suggest you buy some really good drag radials for the rear.
You can then pick up some cheap second hand semi slicks if you do decide to track the car. For example I recently bought some near new 205/50/15 KU36 semis for $350.

If this isn't suitable I don't think you can go past the Toyo R888 for bang for buck.
