If I'm looking at them correctly, I'd say it is effective to help under straight line acceleration mostly, and to a slightly lesser extent laterally. Sometimes you get lucky with engines and the main 'reservoir' of the sump is toward the rear which is (imo) half the battle) and other times, well you just have to make the best of what you are given...

fwiw, I like it, it would be affordable/easy enough for most of us to do at home.
