it would certainly help over having nothing, but not sure if it would help with the windage much.

I would have thought that you would need vertical dividers, like what you get in water/fuel/milk/liquid tankers with small access ports down the bottom to allow the liquid to flow between the sections.

Crank scrapers, which are usually mounted between the the sump and the block need to be profiled to fit the crank so that the oil that is dispersed in the air is restrcited into the top half, with what is below the scrapers hopfully pushed back down into the oil resiviour.
