Uh-oh...sounds like trouble. My transmission has been making some whining noises in gear (even when the clutch is pushed in). At first I thought it was no big deal, maybe the throw-out bearing was going bad. As I thought about it more, I realized it couldn't be the T/O bearing as the noise happens when the clutch is both in and out (but only when it's in gear). Well, within the last two days, I've picked up a strong vibration in the drivetrain when accelerating in any gear between 2000-4000 rpm. It doesn't do it in neutral, and it feels a lot like a bad U-joint. I'm thinking that it may be a U-joint, so I'll check them in a day or two, but I'm betting that it's the transmission, maybe a main bearing in the tranny or something??? Any thoughts???? I need to make it home on Thursday and it's a 2 hour drive on the freeway. I just want to make it there! -Andy
