I had a really short boss that came on one of the 1200's I bought. Problem with it was that the wheel ended up to close to the indicator stalk and my fingers kepted smacking into it when I went around sharp bends. I cut the indicator stalk down as an interim measure...but not a big fan of short bosses!!
