I'm in the process of buying an A14 powered 1200 ute but from what the guy says it looks like it's had the engine number from the original a12 stamped onto the new engine. I had already enquired with insurance companies to see who would cover a 17yrld with a 40yrld car thats had an engine swap, the only insurer that would was Just Cars and i had planned to go with them. I'm going to have to get it RW either as an a12 (hoping it was a good stamp job)but then i dont think ill be able to get covered by Just Cars as they already have it on record as an A14 and if i have an accident they are going to pay special attention to the engine and i doubt i'll be covered. OR. Get it engineered as an A14 which i hope wont be too expensive as im already stretched tight to buy/insure/register this vehicle. Can anyone help, is there a cheap engineer in brisbane that will help me out, and how much will this usually cost?
