I;ve had a steering box query for ages.
Where the adjustor screw contacts the back of the sector shaft, what is used where the two parts touch? Does it have like a nylon rubbing block or what?
I only ask cos when I built my car, I wound that screw in a very long way. It tightened up my steering heaps! and made the car really positive to steer. But once it's out of adjustment, is that the end of the steering box? I have my doubts about the teeth inside it being bale to wear enough for it to have needed as much adjustment as it took. And I was surmising that perhaps it's more a case of whatever is between the screw and the sector shaft wearing instead.
In the exploded drawing, it doesn't name that part. And I figure my question is relevent to this thread.
