But for me, I would stick with the white. Maybe not the origional white as it is a bit stark white for me but it is a real nice colour on 1200's expecially with blackouts and Hayashi Streets on them.

As for the engine, for ease and simplicity the A series in an A14 is the easiest option. But a CG13DE from a K11 micra is also a good donk. 3 out of the 4 bolts will allign with the A series gearbox. As well as the dowells. Except they are M10 instead of M8 thread. Tomei do mild and race cams for them and they are all alloy blocks and look like a mini SR20. That would be my choice. It's modern multi valve and light as an A series or lighter. Choose a heavier gearbox to make the center of gravity move back a little and Hey Presto. A quick and great handling car that is actually different instead of all the other CA and SR 1200's out there. Because nobody has done them before...
