You need to tune it for when it's in drive.
Stalling at the lights is no fun.

I don't think carby cars have an 'idle-up' (FICD ?) valve like modern cars do, so that when it's in drive, the idle is raised a couple of hundred revs.

I believe you'll find that the idle is supposed to be set 150-200 rpm higher in an auto car anyway.

I know from my auto 1200, that when it's cold. you have no chance of getting into reverse or drive for the first 60 seconds, unless I pull the choke right out and revs are at 1200rpm.
