I guess if you want to go to town you can put a WW2 air raid siren in the engine bay. You'll have to move the engine some place else though. ANyone remember Robby COltrane's Plane's Train's and Automobiles? He showed an American air raid siren that was driven by a 318 Chrysler V8! That would get their attention.

You could always pipe a trumpet into the exhaust before the muffler and put a valve in the line. Low tech and extremely loud, would sound like a plane pulled up behind them....
