Thanks for all the input and ideas.

I think a few people misunderstood the engine stamping bit. This was not my main point but rather an additional bonus.

As some of you may know I was originally thinking about going with a CA18 or SR20 but once I realised how much more they weigh, I began thinking of other options. The Z18ET was mentioned as it is both injected & factory turbo which met my requirements. It's not as common as your typical CA18 or SR conversion and its a better looking engine for the era of the car.

Although it seems like a lot of mixing and matching it makes sense. If I can put an engine together which weighs the same (maybe a tad more) as the A15 I'm currently running then that's a big plus for me.

Weight saving is the whole idea behind it. Although it would handle the extra weight no problems...but 10kg here...10kg there...it begins to add up. The answer to more weight is not more power. Weight also effects suspension ride & handling. The more weight...the more strain on the suspension.

Then you might have to think about bigger brakes. Again...more weight. It all adds up.

I know that were talking about 10kg here and it probably doesn't matter to most...but 10kg is 10kg. If it can be done easily enough...why not.

I do plan to occasionally use it for a track day here and there so maybe I can use that as an excuse.
