Can someone clarify for me exactly what a GX head is? I know they come out on the GX models w/ SUs etc but what differentiates them from a standard head? It's just that a guy in a post said he wanted a GX head for his A15. In NZ they are more commonly referred to as 'the round port head' and 'the oval port head'. The oval port had oval shaped inlet ports higher in the head than the round port. You can't interchange manifold as the ports don't match up very well and the manifold studs are different. All A15s I've owned and seen have the oval port head. When you buy a gasket set for a 'big block' A-series you usually get two manifold gaskets- one for each type of head. I think the valve sizes in the oval port (from memory) are 29mm and 37.1mm. Is this the revered 'GX cylinder head' you speak of?
