Yes, pinning is a really good idea. When I first put the Quick release on the Chickenhawk, I got the bright idea to just weld the nut that holds the wheel to the boss and
then just thread the thing on. Well, I think you can all see where this is going, it worked fine for right hand turns but lefts were another matter. I welded it to the shaft
after that.
