ok, so I have run my my LW (Blue/white) back to a fuse that is on at ACC and am running the standard heater/controls so the earth comes thru the yellow or yellow/red..... so to Q1 YES

all that's left in my ute from original Datsun wiring is the heater, park brake and the radio :) - otherwise Silvia all the way

Relays .... not sure what you want to accomplish with a relay
