The cam position sensor fits on the back of the head much like a distributor. From the information I found it would protrude off the back about 2 1/2 inches and would probably not be an issue. Worst case scenario, a small bump could be fabricated into the firewall to clear it, much like SMURF did on his EVO8 powered 1200.

Additionally, with a Haltech ECU or similar, you could batch fire the coils and elimitate it if it gets in the way.
