In 1972, the Japanese make a car which gets almost 35 MPG around town. This is it and it still almost gets 35 MPG around town. Car has ~262k miles on it and has been a daily commuter car for the past 14 years since we've owned it. Top end of engine was rebuilt in the last 6 months for the 1st time. I'm the 2nd owner and have had the car since 135k/~1998. Only other repairs since I got the car was the fuel pump and muffler (I think) and the carburetor was rebuilt a few years back and the radiator was recored many years ago. Car is mostly original. I did put a new radio and speakers in a few years ago since the original AM radio stopped working. I have the original if someone wants it. It would be easy to re-install. Interior isn't perfect as you might expect from a car this old. Engine compartment looks pretty good, but needs a major cleaning which I haven't done since rebuilding the top end. Other biggest bummers about the car: 1) there is one small spot with rust behind the right rear wheel, maybe about the size of your hand, but mostly out of sight, I think I'm the only one that knows it is there. 2) The drivers side of the car has water spots all over it from being parked next to an errant sprinkler for a very hot week about 10 years ago. 3) The hood flew up one time when not latched well and there is slight crinkle in hood and the hinges are obviously stressed where they attach to hood. 4) The paint on the top of the car is severely warn from sun and waxing and is showing all the way to the metal in a number of locations. 5) The interior needs some tender loving care if someone wants to get it back to original. 6) It is time to rebuild the clutch and brakes master/slave cylinders. 7) I'm guessing it is time to rebuilt the brakes also since I NEVER did. 8) The side view mirror broke off. I still have the pieces. This car gets a lot of attention on the road, people love it. I get inquires monthly about selling the car. Now's the time.
