You can buy a polishing kit from Mitre 10 that has two wheels and two blocks of polishing grit.
It's a matter of using the course wheel and block to do the initial pass and get out any larger imperfections and then swap to the softer cloth wheel and finer grit to get a mirror finish. It still takes awhile to do and the issue I have had is that if your not extremely careful at some point you end up putting a scratch in the part when you touch it with the spinning metal mounting plate....I can show you if you come to look at the front bar!
