Well, as tensandtwenties is fond of saying, "empirical data outweighs anecdotal data." If you have used those pumps at the front of the car with success, then I stand corrected. I've always put them near the tank because that is what "they" said to do. Oh yeah, those things do make quite a bit of noise if mounted directly to the chassis without isolators. It doesn't bother me and it has the added bonus of letting me know when I'm about to be on foot. They get even louder when you run the tank dry. You need either a working fuel gauge or odometer, the Chickenhawk has neither. I had to hitchhike to class a few times because of it.
