Those interested in my projects progress.

I bought a VL Commodore 3.45 BorgWarner Diff today. $250. The plan is to shorten it.
It's not the exotic VL Turbo Diff, which is 3.45 (LSD) and about $700. The centre is interchangable, and this may happen in future.
I'll be retaining the 4-link suspension. Yes! It looks like my 1200 won't have leaf springs. So that's something else that will make my little beast unique.

I have three reasons for doing this conversion:
1. The leaf springs wind up causing axle tramp, unless you get really stiff springs or fit tramp rods.
2. Wanted Disc brakes
3. Wanted LSD (maybe in future)

I decided not to pay the extra money for the LSD, because I've heard LSD is a pain in the neck on light cars, unless set to a very light LSD setting (plus I'm tightening the budget a little).

So even after all our good debates on diffs and which is best, I went off at a tangent. I'll let you all know of the success/failure I have.

This means I'll have 2 Ute Diffs up for sale soon. One is currently a good fit in my Sedan, with 180B wagon drums, The other has been converted to 5 stud and retains the original 1200 drums.

ps. For the hoons among you all, I think I've still got a 4.8:1 welded diff centre for a 1200 Ute Diff.
