You can test the vacuum ports for vac advance once running. On the carbs I've plaed with there's no signal at idle (closed butterflys) then once you open it a bit and let the engine run fast (unloaded) you should see a vacuum signal.

PCV you may need to fit some barbs and plumb it up yourself and then tune the carb to compensate for what is essentially a vacuum leak. THis assumes you set it up like most cars and plumb it in between the carb and head. Ideally you want an even flow to each carb. No idea if the SU has provision for that, every set up I've seen just has the pipe under the carb which would mostly effect the idle circuit.
