'bout time i did something with the Y again. I've been a bit distracted with a new car I bought - a V6 powered MR2 which is a good bit of fun :) Always liked them and almost bought a turbo import one many years ago - they've remained on the list of things I really wanted. And this one came up cheap. Real cheap. So I now have the Delica 4WD, twin turbo Soarer, V6 MR2, and the 120Y coupe. It's all getting a bit out of control lol I also still had the Stanza parts car taking up room, so I pulled all the bits I wanted off it last weekend and got the shell taken away...

Now that the engine's sitting there I want to get the L16 conversion done asap. , I've got this week off and yesterday I pulled the 120Y apart - engine, box, diff and leaf springs out, cleaned up the Borg Warner diff ready for paint.

Today I added a leaf to the rear springs - they were nice and low, but just a bit too soft. Also cleaned the springs and all the mounting hardware. Scraped all the loose body deadener off the underbody with a wire wheel on the grinder, then pressure washed the whole underside of the car. Once that was dry I painted the whole underside of the car, the diff, leaf springs etc in chassis black.

Tomorrow I've got to get it basically back together so it's ready to move to Nev's place on Wednesday with the hoist and welder to get the L16 and Stanza 5spd in there :)
