After spending countless hours trawling through the myriad of conflicting stories re strut conversions & getting nowhere fast, its time to ask some pointed questions of folk who have actually done the Stanza SSS wheel on 120Y bit. The tyre rubs on the strut, so options are spacer / longer studs with 120Y strut (icky), or different struts (available info is hopelessly confusing). Since longer studs are harder to find than rocking horse droppings or frogs feathers, it seems a strut swap is indicated. Immediate questions (a) are 310 Sunny struts the same length as 210 120Y struts or do they need cutting a la A10 Stanza struts ?? Note there are several views on this (b) Is the 310 Sunny offset such that Stanza SSS wheels clear the strut ?? (no mention of this anywhere) (c) Is the standard 210 120Y brake master cylinder without booster OK with either 210 Sunny or A10 Stanza brakes ?? The 120Y is extensively restored and largely used for showing ... there is no intention of changing the original motor, consequently there doesn't appear there is any case for messing with crossmembers etc. FWIW, I have access to A10 Stanza parts so that may be the most expedient solution if I can find someone capable of doing a professional job of the strut chop thing.
