As earlier mentioned the whole idea is that if its a streeter you usually want torque & response which is possible with a more forgiving cam grind. In a light car like the 1000 the extra 620cc over the original engine (988cc -> 1608cc) allowed me to run the flywheel Feral lightened for me. This my first A16 was just right for the GX camshaft, but when moving up to the race style camshafts it became tiring to drive on the street. I often had to be aggressive to get into the sweet spot. I went back to the GX camshaft as the more conservative the camshaft along with other mods mentioned the better it went. Going higher with the cam specs it gets very finicky, time consuming and $$$

The carbs where tuned by a bike mechanic and it was the best money spent as all up with my home made manifolds it was $350 (first carbs cost $80) and most peeps thought I had a 12a rotary under the hood at full throttle. I found the stock h89 head with higher comp of the 79mm bores ran very well with the tuned 36mm honda carbs and longer runners but with the second build the 38mm carbs also ran very well with bigger valves 38/33 and shorter runners using the same cam. The possibilities are endless but I liked the milder cams the best.
The gearbox was a 60a 5 speed with stock 4.11 h145 diff all light and nimble.
