With the original ute rear axle, a coupe driveshaft won't bolt on. It sounds like someone swapped rear ends. That's good as the original, while tough, is heavier.

So possibly the engine is too far forward. It should only be 25cm between firewall and back of head.

Or maybe the leak is because a bad rear seal.
