But back to the subject, what Dattodude is talking about it being illegal, is in Australia there is a group called the RTA ( roads and traffic authority ) and they govern all motoring within Australia. There is a different RTA for each state in Australia and they have set up this thing called
ADR's ( Australian Design Rules )
and this basically governs what modifications are allowed and what is deemed safe and what way modifications are done.
Basically the best and safest way things should be done. and if they say that a modification isn't safe it won't pass registration!
Also most modifications have to be inspected by an Engineer and they have to give you a written report stating that it meets these ADR's

It may seem harsh but it is for safety and basically avoides shoddy workmanship!
