Yes either bridge the resistor, or remove it and wire the coil direct. But first make sure the Electronic Ignition unit you are buying is designed for an ultra low-ohm coil like 0.43 ohms. Most are rated for 0.70 ohms. The EI unit (ignitor) will last a long if using a coil with the correct (primary) resistance.
