Need help with engine re-build.

Hey guys so i finally gathered all the stuff i need to do a rebuild on my A12 bottom end.
if there anything else i should be buying/adding to my list please suggest it to me :D

-Con rod bearings
-Crankshaft bearings
-New flat top pistons
-Piston rings
-New chain
-New chain pre-tentioner
-New water pump
-New Welsh plugs
-ground up gasket kit

Still deciding whether i want to get some new cam followers (lifters) ..they look fine for there age but is it worth buying a new set just to be sure?? i need some opinion on this !

Also i need help with my new Pistons....
I have been told that i need to HONE the cylinder block before installing the new pistons.. im just wondering if this is mandatory and what will happen if i don't? and is there anyone that knows a engine shop in Australia, NSW around blacktown/Parramatta that can help me with my datsun motor that would be excellent :)

I am also trying to figure out ways to get all this orange rusty #OOPS# out of my blocks coolant passage.. the thing looks like it had no coolant its whole life and only water lol
