"310 struts" -- what struts exactly do you have? Datsun 310 is a front-wheel-drive car. Datsun B310 is a rear-wheel-drive car

If you are using Datsun B310 struts, they came in two different sizes, (small) 45mm struts or (large) 2" struts being the diameter of the strut tubes. Which do you have?
