Just remember there are different R31 diffs (five I think). That looks like the Borg Warner 78 type. Which came two versions: R31 Skyline with heavy-duty 28-spline axles, and R31 Pintara with regular-duty 25-spline axles

BW78 is the only one with 9-bolt rear cover. I believe it also has an unusual 6-bolt tailshaft flange
