Hi Sumith, the PCV should be free (loose) when shaken or when prodded. Only when vacuum is applied does it close up more fully. The spring action should be intact (but it is a very weak spring action)

To test if the PCV is causing the idle problem:
* Pull hose off PCV valve. This hose ventilates the crankcase, so leave it open to the air
* Plug the end of PCV valve with a rubber cap
[EDIT:] OR cover the end of the valve with a piece of duct tape or electrical tape

You can drive around for days like that and the engine will run good. Of course, the block ventilation is no longer positive

If it makes no difference to the idle consistency, the PCV is not the problem
