Once you take the pin out, it will now always idle. And the wire becomes useless

The only downside is that the engine may have difficulty shutting off. It that happens, set the idle speed to factory-specification 700 rpm (or even lower) and re-adjust the idle mixture. If it still doesn't want to shut off quickly, most of us turn off the key and slowly let the clutch out (with foot on brake pedal) to stall the engine. No need to fix the valve

If you still want to restore the operation of the Anti-diesel valve (to shut the engine down when key is turned off), you can try soldering the wire back on (and then put the pin back in). Most I have seen broke off too short to reconnect
