The amount of horsepower is irrelevant to this question. The peak torque (twisting force) is what is important. This also means the transmission is relevant. A transmission with a lower first-gear will send more torque to the diff, for example the stock four-speed has a lower first gear than the five-speed overdrive. Also things like revving the engine and dumping the clutch can shock the diff, that's how an A12 can break the diff.

The H150s generally have no trouble with any naturally-asprirated A14 or A15, unless perhaps you are drag racing (dumping the clutch with sticky tires). This means the H165 will hold up too.
